Ladder cable tray roll forming machine is a dedicated cold roll forming line to manufacture side rails for ladder-type cable trays, one of the most popular open-style cable management systems for power and control cables. The finished ladder cable tray features two parallel side channels connected by cross rungs, offering excellent ventilation, easy cable access and heat dissipation compared with trough or solid-bottom cable trays. It is widely specified for heavy power cabling in industrial plants, power stations, oil & gas projects and large infrastructure.
The complete production workflow includes hydraulic decoiling, strip guiding, servo feeding, inline punching for splice holes and rung connection holes, multi-pass roll forming, hydraulic flying cut-to-length and finished profile stacking. The line mainly forms C-channel or folded edge side rails for cable ladders. We can supply standalone side rail forming machines or integrated lines matched with rung welding assemblies for full ladder tray production. It supports hot-dip galvanized steel, pre-galvanized GI, aluminum and stainless steel coils.

Equipped with servo punching system synchronized with encoder tracking. Punching positions for connecting holes and rung mounting holes stay consistent along the whole length. No secondary stamping required after forming, which greatly cuts extra labour and improves batch consistency. Hole spacing, hole diameter and punching patterns can be edited directly on the touch screen.
PLC Automatic Control & Optional Quick Change Design
Adopts reliable PLC and HMI touch screen operation. Operators set tray width, rail height, cut length, batch quantity and production speed. The control system stores multiple product recipes for fast recall. Optional quick-change roller spacer design allows switching between different ladder sizes without full roller disassembly, minimizing downtime for customers running mixed orders of 100mm, 200mm, 300mm, 400mm, 600mm wide cable ladders.
Heavy-Duty Roller System for Stable Forming
Forming rollers are made of Cr12MoV alloy steel, quenched and hard chrome plated. Multi-stage forming stands avoid profile twisting, edge waving and springback. The welded thick machine base goes through shot blasting anti-rust treatment, maintaining high rigidity under long continuous running. Length tolerance is controlled within ±2 mm to meet IEC electrical cable tray standards.
Stable Flying Hydraulic Cutting
Flying shear cutting structure keeps the line running continuously without stopping the strip. The hydraulic station with independent cooling system delivers clean, low-burr cuts. It works reliably for both thin galvanized sheets and thicker heavy-duty steel for large-span cable ladders.
Flexible Customization for Different Markets
We tailor the line according to your drawings or samples. Adjustable forming range covers common ladder side rail heights from 50 mm to 150 mm. Material thickness ranges from 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm. You can select basic configuration, auto decoiler, servo punching unit, automatic stacker or full combined ladder assembly line. Voltage and frequency can be customized to match local power standards for Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Latin America.
