The CZ steel forming machine, officially called the CZ steel cold bending production line, is a high-efficiency equipment specifically designed to process metal coils into CZ-shaped steel. Widely used in construction, manufacturing, and other fields, it is an indispensable key piece of equipment in modern industrial production.
The system operates on continuous cold bending technology, eliminating the need for hot processing and effectively preventing material property changes caused by high temperatures. The production process begins with steel coil feeding, progressing through uncoiling, straightening, forming, and cutting stages, ultimately yielding CZ-shaped steel of precise length.

The device is composed of the following parts:
Material feeding and unwinding device: Supports the steel coil and smoothly unfolds it, guiding it into the production line. Key components include the coil holder, unwinder, feeding device (such as feeding bridge or straightening feeder), and clamping roller or clamping arm (to prevent coil slippage).

Feed guidance and initial straightening device: Preliminary flattening of coils (eliminating curling stress) and guiding the strip steel accurately into the forming machine to ensure stable forming process and quality. Key components include guide rollers (sets) and multi-roll straightening units (5-roll, 7-roll, 9-roll, etc.).

Host-CZ Steel Cold Bending Forming Unit: This is the core component of the production line, which progressively and continuously bends flat steel strips into precise CZ-shaped profiles (Z-section) through a series of horizontally arranged roller sets. The system consists of multiple independent forming frames (typically 8-24 or more, depending on the complexity and thickness of the steel sections). Each frame contains one or more pairs of precision-engineered forming rollers (up/down or horizontal/vertical). All frames are synchronized by one or more high-power motors driven by gearboxes and universal shafts. Modern servo drive technology has become increasingly prevalent, offering enhanced precision and flexibility. The frames are equipped with fine-tuning mechanisms for vertical and horizontal adjustments to ensure accurate forming in each pass, achieving precise dimensional specifications. Additionally, interchangeable forming rollers of different models can be used to produce CZ steel sections in various specifications.

Cutting Mechanism: In continuous forming processes, CZ steel is cut into fixed-length products according to preset specifications. Common cutting methods include flying saw cutting, shearing, and die punching. Flying saw cutting, characterized by high speed, precision, and smooth cutting surfaces, remains the predominant method. Shearing operates on a scissor-like principle with relatively simple structure, though it requires high-quality dies (including fixed-length stop blocks and shearing dies). When processing thick materials, it may cause slight end face deformation, making it suitable for less demanding or thinner materials. Die punching utilizes molds synchronized with forming rollers to perform punching at stationary points (similar to blanking), achieving the highest precision but with relatively lower efficiency, ideal for specialized applications. Key components include cutting heads (saw blades with motor for flying saw; shearing tools), length measurement and feedback systems, synchronous tracking systems (for flying saw), and control systems.

Discharge rack/receiving system: A stable platform for receiving cut CZ steel products, designed to collect, stack, or transport them to downstream processes (e.g., drilling equipment, packaging, or storage areas). Available configurations include simple inclined discharge racks, chain conveyors, roller conveyors, mobile receiving trolleys, and automated palletizing robots. The selection depends on production speed, product length, weight, and automation requirements.

The electrical control system:Serving as the “brain” of the entire production line, manages all drive motors’ start/stop operations, speed regulation and synchronization, length-cutting settings and execution, production counting, fault alarms, and touchscreen human-machine interaction. Key components include PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), frequency converters or servo drives, HMI (Human-Machine Interface), sensors (for position, speed, and length), and an operation control console.

The CZ steel forming machine, featuring continuous automated production lines, can process various coil materials including hot-dip galvanized coils, zinc-aluminum-magnesium alloy coils, color-coated coils, and cold-rolled coils. The produced CZ steel (Z-shaped purlins) are widely used in architectural structures—particularly for roof and wall purlins in industrial plants, warehouses, and steel-framed buildings—as well as in other applications requiring Z-shaped cross-section support structures.
