The C Steel Purlin Roll Forming Machine, fully known as the C-type steel cold roll forming production line, is a high-efficiency equipment specifically designed to process metal coils into C-shaped steel sections with precise dimensions. Its working principle is based on continuous cold roll forming technology, which avoids material performance changes caused by high temperature without thermal processing. The equipment is mainly composed of the following parts:
Loading and Uncoiling Device: Bears the steel coil and smoothly unfolds and guides it into the production line. Feeding Guide and Initial Leveling Device: Initially flattens the coil (to eliminate curling stress) and guides the steel strip into the forming machine accurately, ensuring stable forming process and forming quality. Key components include guide roller group, multi-roller (5-roller, 7-roller, 9-roller, etc.) leveling unit. The high-precision leveling structure ensures the flatness of the steel strip before forming, laying a solid foundation for high-quality C steel production.

Main Machine – C Steel Cold Roll Forming Unit: As the core part of the production line, it gradually and continuously rolls and bends the flat steel strip into a precise C-shape through a series of sequentially arranged horizontal roller groups. It consists of multiple (usually 8-24 or more, depending on the complexity and thickness of the steel section) independent forming frames. Each frame contains one or more pairs of precision-designed forming rollers (upper and lower rollers or horizontal/vertical rollers). Generally, one or more high-power motors drive all frames to operate synchronously through gearboxes and universal drive shafts. Nowadays, servo drive technology is also increasingly popular, which can provide higher precision and flexibility. The frame is also equipped with fine adjustment mechanisms in vertical and horizontal directions to ensure accurate forming of each pass, achieve precise overall dimensions, and different models of forming rollers can be replaced to produce C steel of different specifications to meet the diverse needs of global customers.

Cutting Device: In the continuous forming process, the C steel is cut into fixed-length finished products according to the set length. Common cutting methods include flying saw cutting, shear cutting and die stamping cutting. Flying saw cutting is the most mainstream method with fast speed, high precision and smooth cutting surface; shear cutting is similar to the principle of scissors, with a relatively simple structure, but has high requirements for molds (fixed-length stop blocks and shear molds), and the end face deformation may be slightly larger when cutting thick materials, suitable for materials with low requirements or thin thickness; die stamping cutting uses molds that move synchronously with the forming rollers to punch at static points (similar to blanking), with the highest precision but relatively low efficiency, suitable for special requirements. Key components include cutting head (flying saw: saw blade motor, saw blade; shear: upper and lower tools), fixed-length device (length measurement and feedback), synchronous tracking system (flying saw), and control system. The cutting accuracy can reach ±0.5mm, fully meeting international quality standards.

Discharging Bench / Receiving Device: Smoothly undertakes the cut finished C steel, collects, stacks or conveys it to the next process (such as punching equipment, packaging, stacking area). Types can be simple inclined discharge racks, chain conveyors, roller conveyors, mobile receiving trolleys, automatic stacking robots, etc. The specific selection depends on production speed, finished product length, weight and automation requirements. The humanized design ensures the safety and convenience of the discharging process and improves the overall production efficiency.

Electric Control System: As the “brain” of the entire production line, it controls the start and stop of all drive motors, speed regulation and synchronization, setting and execution of cutting length, production counting, fault alarm, touch screen man-machine interaction, etc. Key components include PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), inverter or servo driver, HMI (touch screen), sensors (position, speed, length), and operation console. The system adopts international mainstream brands of electrical components, with stable performance and easy operation, and supports multi-language switching to facilitate operation by customers from different countries.
