Profile Deformation & Dimensional Errors
Issue 1: Twisting, Curving & Tracking Deviation
Causes
Uneven roll gap on left and right sides.
Misaligned feeding center of the leveling machine.
Loose anchor bolts causing frame vibration at high speed.
Improper deformation distribution among forming passes, leading to residual stress.
Excessive clearance of roller bearings.
Solutions
Adjust roll gaps symmetrically with feeler gauges to ensure equal pressure on both sides.
Align the whole line to keep steel strip moving straight without lateral shift.
Level the main frame and fasten all foundation bolts to eliminate vibration.
Distribute bending deformation into multiple passes to reduce springback.
Replace worn bearings to stop roller shaking.
Issue 2: Out-of-tolerance Dimensions (Flange Height, Opening Width, Angle Springback)
Causes
Worn forming rollers.
Uneven thickness of incoming galvanized coils.
Excessive or insufficient roll pressing depth.
Q355 high-tensile steel has larger springback than ordinary carbon steel.
Solutions
Polish or replace damaged rollers.
Reject raw materials with big thickness deviation.
Fine-tune roll pressure step by step with multi-pass forming.
Reserve extra compensation angle for high-strength steel to counter springback.
Issue 3: Edge Wave & Wrinkle
Cause
Over-bending at edge positions and unstable strip tension.
Solution
Divide edge bending into more forming stations, keep consistent feeding tension and remove burrs on rollers.
Issue 4: Surface Scratches on Galvanized Strip
Cause
Sharp edges on rollers and guide plates.
Solution
Polish all contact parts; install nylon anti-scratch guards to avoid hard friction.
Punching System Failures
Hole Pitch Deviation & Poor Position Accuracy
Causes
Servo encoder drift; wrong PLC timing parameters; unstable feeding speed.
Solutions
Recalibrate encoder; reset punching program; stabilize line speed; synchronize hydraulic punching action.
Big Burrs, Cracked Steel & Broken Punches
Causes
Excessive gap between punch and die; dull cutting edges; over-high hydraulic pressure.
Solutions
Control die clearance within 8%~10% of sheet thickness; regrind tool edges; reduce hydraulic pressure properly.
Missing Punching & Continuous Punching
Check photo sensors and proximity switches; remove oil contamination; re-match feeding and punching timing.
Flying Shear & Cutting Troubles
Length Inaccuracy
Causes
Slipping encoder; lost servo parameters; strip slipping during transportation.
Solutions
Lock encoder shaft; reset flying shear parameters; tighten feeding pinch rollers to prevent material sliding.
Uneven Cuts & Distorted End Profiles
Replace blunt cutting blades and adjust blade clearance evenly; add material supports under the profile to reduce bending during cutting.
High Hydraulic Oil Temperature & Jumping Shear
Clean water cooling pipeline; replace hydraulic oil regularly; avoid non-stop high-speed operation without heat dissipation.
Feeding & Mechanical Malfunctions
Material Jamming
Reduce pressure of leveling rollers; install coil straightener to correct strip camber; re-align the whole production line.
Excessive Vibration & Abnormal Noise
Lubricate bearings and gearboxes regularly; tighten chains and transmission parts; replace worn gears.
Servo Alarm & Automatic Shutdown
Stabilize three-phase power supply; check loose wiring; lower instantaneous line speed to cancel overload protection.
Routine Maintenance Tips
Clean rollers and punching dies every shift;
Refill lubricant for bearings and reducers daily;
Re-calibrate center line, roll gap and punching timing every two weeks;
Keep hydraulic water cooling system running continuously during mass production;
Produce 3~5 test pieces after die change before mass production.
