The industry primarily classifies it based on “plate configuration and forming process,” dividing it into three main types: open-type, concave (swallow-tail) type, and closed-type. Each type exhibits significant differences in performance and application scenarios. The specific classifications and characteristics are as follows:
Open-type floor bearing plate (first-generation floor bearing plate)
The open-cell floor slab is the most widely used and cost-effective basic type of floor slab on the market, featuring a V-shaped or U-shaped open corrugated cross-section with transparent openings at the peaks, offering a simple structure and easy manufacturing process.
Key features: lightweight construction, rapid installation speed, low cost, and combined functions of temporary form work and simple load-bearing capacity; however, the overall stiffness of the floor slab is generally limited, with poor fire resistance and crack resistance properties, and the deformation resistance of the surface after concrete pouring is restricted.
Common models include: Type 688, Type 690, Type 720, Type 780, YXB76-305-915, etc.
Application scenarios: Multi-story steel structure factories, ordinary office buildings, small and medium-sized supermarkets, and other building floors with relatively short spans and conventional loads.
Constricted (swallowtail) type floor bearing plate (improved open-type plate)
Also known as the swallow-tail floor slab, it represents an upgraded version of the open-type floor slab. By optimizing its structural design, the top opening is narrowed while the sides feature a swallow-tail snap-fit structure that ensures tight adhesion to concrete.
Key features: Overcomes the limitations of open-faced slabs by significantly reducing concrete section weakening, markedly enhancing overall slab stiffness, shear resistance, fire and corrosion resistance, minimizing concrete spalling and cracking risks, and offering superior stability compared to conventional open-faced slabs.
Common model: YXB51-155-620 (standard snap-fit type).
Application scenarios:Medium-to-high-rise steel structure buildings, office buildings with heavy loads, and floor projects requiring high slab flatness and durability.
Closed-cell floor bearing plate (third-generation floor bearing plate)
This is a high-end integrated panel design featuring a fully enclosed surface, a smooth bottom, and a closed top, forming a box-shaped structure. It represents the press-formed floor-bearing panel with the best overall performance available today.
Key features: High overall stiffness, strong load-bearing capacity, excellent seismic and deformation resistance; a smooth and aesthetically pleasing bottom surface requiring no additional plastering; outstanding fire resistance and sound insulation properties; suitable for direct use as a floor load-bearing structure without additional reinforcement, resulting in simplified construction procedures.
Common models include:Type 500, Type 510, Type 555, Type 600, etc.
Application scenarios: High-rise buildings, large complexes, convention centers, factory buildings with long spans, and premium structures requiring stringent fire resistance, sound insulation, and aesthetic standards.

In addition to mainstream structural classifications, building floors can also be categorized by “material” into galvanized floor slabs and aluminum-zinc coated floor slabs; or by “construction method” into modular floor slabs and non-modular floor slabs.
